Logistics & Planning
- Booking Early: Spots fill up fast! We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure your preferred dates are available.
- Dietary Needs: We serve a locally inspired charcuterie-style lunch featuring Arizona oils, jams, meats, and fresh produce. It is designed with variety in mind; however, please notify us of any life-threatening allergies so we can ensure a safe, uncontaminated meal for you.
- Payment: To secure your reservation, all tours must be paid in advance. We do not accept cash payments on the day of the trip.
- Door to Door Pickup: During check out you’ll be asked to enter the location of your pick up and drop off for your day trip. We will coordinate a 15 minute window of time where we will pick up up from your hotel.
- Pickups (Airbnb/VRBO): We offer door-to-door pickup for locations within Flagstaff or Williams city limits. If you are staying outside city limits, we will coordinate a convenient meeting point in downtown Flagstaff.
- What to Wear: Dress in layers! Temperatures change drastically throughout the day. Bring clothing you can easily add or remove as the weather shifts. If you’re hiking with us, PLEASE PLEASE wear athletic shoes that are already broken in.
- Transportation from Phoenix: Most guests reach Flagstaff from Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) via rental car or the Groome Transportation shuttle.
- Our Location: Our office is at 2404 E Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ. We are located upstairs above our sister businesses, Eat n’ Run Cafe and The Outpost. While we usually pick you up directly, feel free to stop by to browse The Outpost for unique Arizona-made gifts!
- Itinerary Changes: To provide the best experience, we may adjust the order of stops or the route to accommodate weather, traffic, or specific pickup logistics.
Fees & Permits
- What’s Included: Standard park entrance fees are included in your tour price. Important Note for International Guests: Per National Park regulations, non-US citizens may be required to pay an additional entry fee. Please review our dedicated page for more details.
The Grand Canyon Experience
- The Skywalk: Our tours focus on Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim). The Skywalk is located at Grand Canyon West, which is a separate area several hours away.
- Reaching the River: Standard tours stay on the rim. While we offer private hiking, trekking to the Colorado River and back in a single day is challenging and strongly discouraged for unacclimated guests. For a water experience, ask us about our Lee’s Ferry Kayaking packages (coming soon)!
- Sunset Tours: Yes! We offer specific private sunset tours to experience the canyon during the “golden hour.”
- One-Way Drop-offs: Staying at the Canyon? We can drop you off at Grand Canyon Village or Tusayan instead of returning to Flagstaff. If we pick you up from the Canyon area rather than Flagstaff, you may be eligible for a discount.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Altitude & Hydration: Flagstaff sits at 7,000 feet. Dehydration and altitude sickness are common; we recommend drinking significantly more water than usual to prepare.
- The Peaks: The mountains towering over Flagstaff are the San Francisco Peaks. This range includes Mount Humphreys, the highest point in Arizona.
- Inside the Canyon: The temperature rises as you descend. Expect the bottom of the canyon to be 20°F to 25°F warmer than the rim.
- Getting Around the Park: If you are staying at the South Rim without a vehicle, the National Park Service provides a free shuttle system that connects the Visitor Center, lodges, and major viewpoints.
- Bring Your Medications: If you have medications that are necessary to get you through the day, make sure you bring those on the trip
